Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo and Leave-in Conditioner Review

Olive Oil shampoo and conditioner review

Are you in pursuit of soft, smooth, shiny and frizz-free hair? Can Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing shampoo and leave-in conditioner tame tangled and frizzy hair? Read my in-depth review.

“A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life. “- Coco Chanel. This is one quote that I strongly feel speaks my mind. I am obsessed with my hair – it’s my favorite jewelry. I keep changing my style so that I can take control and change the flow of my life.

I have chemically treated my hair, played with my hair length, coloring and used heat to make it straight or curly. But after moving to Dubai, my hair became unruly, frizzy and dry. My heartbeat slows down whenever I comb my hair. I am scared of HAIRFALL! I think my relationship with my hair is terribly personal as it brings my entire existence into focus. So, it is very important for me to take good care of my hair all the time.ย For over a fortnight now, I have been using Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Hair Products with Jamaican Black Castor oil – Olive Oil Smoothing Shampoo and Olive Oil Leave-in Conditioner. I used it for a long time before writing this review so that I can be sure of what I say.

I just tried celeb hair dye trend, Balayage, to get that dreamy, lust-worthy and sun-kissed hair. I know…it sounds cheesy but I love my new hairstyle ๐Ÿ˜‰

My relationship with Palmerโ€™s is not all that different than relationships with people. It all started during my pregnancy when I started using their Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for stretch marks and then I used Palmer’s baby products. I love Palmer’s Prenatal, postnatal, and baby care products.

What is Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo?

Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo is enriched with a unique blend of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Hair Keratin Amino Acids, and Vitamin E.

Key Ingredients:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Olive oil has been used for centuries as a natural conditioner. It locks in moisture and preventing dryness of the scalp, it can make hair soft, smooth and shiny.

Vitamin E: It is an antioxidant that helps repair and build tissue. It helps reduce inflammation and repair damage to the follicles, and healthy follicles encourage hair growth.

Keratin: Keratin is the protein found naturally in hair strands, which gives hair its structure. It can help with hair thickness too.

Jamaican Black Castor Oil: It is rich in Omega-9 fatty acids that moisturize the scalp and prevent hair from drying out. It is an effective remedy to control hair fall.

My Thoughts:

Washing hair too frequently can result in a loss of natural oils that are required to hydrate and nourish. This shampoo instantly moisturizes, hydrate and nourish hair. It is light and has a citric fragrance which is not strong. I use it 2-3 times a week and it instantly revives my hair. If you wish to tame unruly and frizzy hair then this shampoo will not disappoint you. It instantly moisturizes your hair and makes it softer and smoother. This shampoo is not for you if you have fine/straight hair as it would be too moisturizing. But if you have thick and coarse hair which needs a kick of moisture then you’ll love this shampoo.

As far as packaging is concerned, it is quite sleek and simple but that’s what appeals me the most.

Palmer’sยฎ Olive Oil Formulaยฎ Leave-In Conditioner detangles strands, reduce fly-aways, tame frizz and it’s a lightweight spray. It gives an extra punch of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Keratin and Silk proteins. I use it daily to add shine and less frizz.

My Thoughts:

Where hast thou been? I’ll give thee a crown. This is one product that I strongly feel can easily enter in Top 10 Leave-in conditioners of 2017. ๐Ÿ† As I told you, I have thick, dry and coarse hair that frizzes – it makes my life difficult. I would take time to get ready and most of the time I am in a rush so it is difficult to take out time and set hair. This lightweight spray helps control frizz and makes hair soft and manageable. I keep it in my bag so that whenever I see frizz I just spray and set my hair. I am going to stick to this product for long. This is a “BOMB”.

  1. I always felt Olive Oils are natural solution to almost everything. So obviously, it is also useful for hairs as well. I hope this profuct goes well as it has mentioned.

  2. Your new haircut looks gorgeous- I wish mine flowed so nicely! I’ve never used leave-in conditioner but maybe that’s what my hair has been missing all along. Will totally have to give it a shot! Plus, anything that claims to help with frizz is a must try!

  3. I believe olive oil is a natural solution for all hair and skin issues. This product looks like something I would really enjoy using. Your hair in the picture above looks wonderful. Healthy and vibrant.

    1. This is the first thing I notice whenever I use a brand. I am happy that most of the companies have started to become cruelty-free ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Darn, I was sold until I read that it’s not good for fine straight hair… mine is so straight I just get out of the shower and brush it and I am done for the day. While that sounds great, it also means my hair doesn’t do much at all. And it gets so oily I have to shower every day.

  5. I’m wary of leave-in conditioners because they make my hair feel very heavy and greasy. But with your glowing review, I will definitely check these out!

    1. This Leave-in spray conditioner is like a mist so it never made my hair feel greasy. I wish you get a sample to try first… ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I’m super interested to use this product. I know olive oil is naturally good for your hair and my hair get frizzy also. Was looking for new product and this is on my top list!

    1. I have never tried it on grey hair so I can’t say much about it but if your hair needs a kick of moisture then it will definitely work. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I wish this was available in South Africa. Frizzy hair has been a struggle for me all my life, and now I can’t even have keratin treatments until after my baby is born. This will come super handy right now!

    1. Oh! I thought Palmer’s is available in SA. Palmer’s also has a range of products for prenatal and postnatal care – Annnd it’s too good. One trick that has always worked for me to get rid of Frizzy hair is to mix few drops of coconut oil with water and spray it on the hair after wash…it works in taming my hair without making it greasy! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. These sound like amazing products, and the sheen of your hair really reflects that – literally! I can really get behind all of the ingredients you listed. Though, I do have one question: Does it contain silicones? All the girls here have suuuper delicate, thin hair that gets weighed down easily by these additives.

  9. My family loves Palmers for our hair care and it’s so awesome Because it leaves my hair so soft, smooth and shiny as well. This is really a must try product.

  10. I destroyed my hair as a teenager with cutting it and bleaching them and then dying them cold black and now I am very careful of my hair. I have heard great things for the palmers olive oil and I might just have to try it!

  11. Leave-in conditioner is a lifesaver! This stuff looks great. Admittedly I’m a bit hesitant to ever change up my hair care routine because it took FOREVER to find one that works haha.

    1. I am a lil different when it comes to hair care. I have experienced that if I don’t change my shampoo or conditioner frequently my hair becomes so used to it that it stops working for me. So I change my hair care regimen frequently. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. now that winter air is around (DRY air) I could really use something that moisturizes my hair… I hate when it feels and looks dry so I’lll have to look into these products (I have naturally wavy thick hair!)

  13. My daughter has hair like yours. Super long and very pretty. Our shower is always filled with new products she’s been trying. I’ll have to ask her about this one and keep an eye out for it at Target. With the addition of olive oil, it seems like it would be more natural and healthy. x

  14. I also have thick and coarse hair that can easily frizz in the hot and humid weather. So I can relate to your search for the proper hair products to make life easier. When we are busy getting ready to go to work or out to do errands, who has the time to fuss with “difficult” hair? It sounds like this line of shampoos and conditioners works well for women like us.
