Hello my loves, I am a big advocate of DIY face masks as they are superrrr easy and chemical free. Even though spa facials give a boost to your skincare but DIY masks nourishes your skin. Off late, I realised that I should focus more on anti-aging as experts believe that there is slower collagen production, once you hit your 30s. Who wants to look like an old hag! Like it or not if you are in your late 20s, start with a skincare routine before you see fine lines like river streams on your face. But this is not to make you smear high-end creams on your face. Girl, trust me you don’t need wrinkle fighters or collagen boosters, if you just focus on ingredients that can make you look younger, glow-y and healthy. Here is a 3 ingredients crazy miracle Chocolate face mask to get back that glow:
Chocolate Face Mask:
Ingredients:
- Dark Chocolate (85% Cocoa)
- Oats
- Cream or Yogurt
Instructions:
Grind dark chocolate and then add oats to it. Mix 1 teaspoon cream (if you are dry) or 1 teaspoon yogurt (if you are oily) to the dry mixture. Apply the mask on a clean dry face and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off with a warm water. Massage your face with your favourite facial oil.
Why it works:
Chocolate is a great exfoliator and it penetrates deep inside the skin to remove impurities. It is also high in antioxidants which absorbs skin damaging free radicals.”There is some scientific research backing up the belief that cocoa has healthful properties. In a study conducted at Cornell University in New York and published in the February 10, 2005, issue of “Journal of Agricultural Food and Chemistry” researchers found that flavonoids in cocoa protected cells from cytotoxicity, and suggested that cocoa may have preventative and anti-neurodegerative effects.”
Oats has 18 different amino acids that are essentials for healthy skin. It is not only a good exfoliator but also a good moisturiser. It is a natural cleanser and treats acne.
Cream or Yogurt: Lactic acid in yogurt will tighten pores and also removes dead skin. Cream moisturise and give that glow-y finish to the skin.
Result: My skin feels soft , nourished and hydrated. It smells divine!
Note: Like any other skin care regime, it is necessary to do a patch test on the skin to make sure that there is no allergic reaction with any ingredient. Everyone’s skin is different so result can vary.
Are you planning to give this Chocolate face mask a try? What are your favourite DIY face mask?

Cheers…
