There are multiple ways to practice mindfulness but what is important is to follow it regularly. There is no right or wrong way to be mindful. You just need to get off the treadmill of your thoughts and focus on your present.

“The basic root of happiness lies in our minds; outer circumstances are nothing more than adverse or favorable.” is my favorite. I wasn’t happy for a while after we moved to a new state, but I realized it’s all in my mind and my perception. Once I learned to just be happy where we are, and not let my outside circumstances rule over me, I’ve been much happier.
