Tik-Tok made me buy this viral SHEGLAM color bloom liquid blush!
SHEGLAM Color Bloom Liquid Blush review.
One day while scrolling the Tik-Tok feed, I kept seeing a tiny blush used by various tiktokkers. I was fascinated with the packaging of this blush – hexagonal bottle with a dense doe-foot sponge applicator. I was never a big fan of liquid or cream blushes but after using this I have fallen in love with Sheglam color bloom liquid blush.
SHEGLAM COLOR BLOOM LIQUID BLUSHES
What it is?
“Like a drink for your cheeks, our luxe liquid blush adds a bloom of beautiful color and nourishing ingredients， like Vitamin C, to your complexion. Its gel-cream formula and sponge tip infuse color effortlessly into your skin for a plumping and oh-so-pretty effect.” – SHEGLAM
What did I like about SHEGLAM Color Bloom Liquid Blushes?
Highly pigmented and the consistency of the liquid blush. It doesn’t have a drip-like consistency which makes it very convenient to use.
Price. Price. Price. As a makeup enthusiast or someone who wants to try new makeup or someone who doesn’t want to splurge this price point is a winner.
SHEGLAM products are cruelty-free.
What did I not like about SHEGLAM?
Delivery time! I had to wait for good 15 days to get the products. Honestly, it takes away all the excitement to try a new product.
My Thoughts: SHEGLAM Color Bloom Liquid Blushes are highly pigmented with a subtle luminous finish. The blush costs just $5 but as I purchased during a sale, I ended up paying $6 for 2 blushes. The two shades I purchased are Love Cake and Risky Business. I also tried SHEGLAM Sun Sculpt Liquid Contour – Warm Honey and it also lived to my expectations. I am about to exhaust these blushes. I am going to repurchase them (maybe add some other shades in my collection).
Today, I received SHEGLAM Birthday Skin Primer in the package. This primer is considered a dupe for the high-end Tatcha Silk Canvas primer. I have tried Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer (travel size) before and I loved using it as it has a velvety smooth finish. While I feel that it’s hard to find a dupe for the Tatcha silk canvas primer, I do not mind trying a $6 primer.
Stay tuned for a detailed review of SHEGLAM Birthday Skin Primer.
Knock! Knock! Spring is here and it has got everything from neon makeup to floral scented body washes, and a lot of fresh products. Choose what’s real…Palmer’s!
But if you’re looking to work on your body and skin-care without breaking the bank. I have got a piece of good news – there are products waiting to hit your shelves this season.
Springtime resonates with spring cleaning and I know decluttering your home can bring stress and some skin issues. It’s time to multi-task and bring back baby-like skin with these 5 Palmer’s products that I can’t get enough of right now- and will inevitably be restocking them.
Ahead, see 5 products worth buying from Palmer’s that I have used them for a long time and I am still obsessed.
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack Palmer’s Olive Oil formula Deep Conditioner for frizzy hair
“Palmer’s Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Protein Pack is an intensive moisturizing treatment to strengthen & repair dry, damaged hair. It is formulated with the blend of ultra-nourishing oils, including natural Coconut Oil, Tahitian Monoi Oil, Vitamin E, Keratin Protein, Silk Amino Acids & Coconut Milk. It does not contain Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates or Mineral Oil.”
My dry and frizzy hair loves the consistency of this mask as it has such a nice thick concentrated nourishing formula. It has got a mild tropical smell that I absolutely love. I leave it for as long as possible to deep condition my hair. I apply the mask and finish most of my chores, perfect for a spring cleaning session too.
Have you read Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo and Leave-in Conditioner Review? Whaaaatttt….did you say no!!!! Please read it here.
Any tips? Cover your hair with plastic for a more intense treatment.
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Body Firming Sheet Mask
“Delivers a powerful dose of firming ingredients in a sheet sized mask to fit the body’s curves and contours. Crafted with Brazilian Guarana Extract, Capuaçu, and sustainable Coconut Oil. This potent ingredient blend helps improve microcirculation and skin texture, resulting in a firmer, toned and smoother appearance. 96% of women tested* found that their skin appeared firmer and more toned after incorporating this sheet mask into their daily skin care regime. The sheet mask delivery system allows for optimal penetration of ingredients and the excess product can be massaged into the target area for added hydration.”
Remember the sheet mask trend which was omnipresent for the past two years. No, it isn’t going anywhere but it has evolved from face to other parts of the body like arms and thighs. To be very honest, at first, I didn’t like the product as I found the sheet mask too small for my thighs and was very uncomfortable using it. But I thought I will give it a try and use it on my arms next time. After using it on my arms, I found my skin hydrated, toned and moisturized. I am not sure it improves microcirculation or not but I can attest that it can make your skin radiant and hydrated.
Give your skin some pamper by using it on your arms, thighs or stomach.
Any tips? Use it after using body scrub and massage. Like face masks, rub the extra lotion on your body.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Post-Natal Firming Lotion
“A powerful combination of Cocoa Butter, Collagen, Elastin, and Shea Butter that firms and tones whilst improving the skin’s elasticity. This unique formula is specifically designed to restore your body to its natural, original firmness even after pregnancy or weight loss. In addition Ginseng and Vitamin E help nourish and rejuvenate tired skin. Also contains Co-Enzyme Q10 which is an antioxidant that stimulates skin cells.”
Every time I come across a body firming product, I optimistically test that product. Who doesn’t want Victoria Secret model worthy bum and legs! Most of the time, I compare it with Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Post-Natal Firming Lotion. I have been using it since 2014 and it’s still my favorite. I have a tendency to gain and lose weight fast so it’s important for me to take care of my stomach and bum. Skin firming creams aren’t a skin fairy, they need to be used regularly with a good diet and exercise.
Need tips?Try to use it daily. Start using now to get ready for summer.
“Palmer’s Coconut Oil Luminous Hydration Facial Oil combines Fair Trade Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and 9 other pure precious oils to deeply boost hydration, replenishing and revitalizing skin to its most naturally dewy, radiant and healthy-looking state. Helps maintain skin’s optimal moisture level so skin is balanced and never greasy or overproducing oil to compensate for the dryness.”
A lot can happen during a year. A lot happened in 2018 travel-wise, I exhausted my travel bucket list. Even though I looked at it as an achievement, my body and skin suffered a lot. My skin didn’t like jet lag, long travels, and smoggy city air. I started using this hydration oil to replenish and revive my tired skin. Unlike other facial oils, this doesn’t sit on your face rather it is completely absorbed. I experienced natural dewy and healthy skin after using it daily for a week.
Any tip? Use 2-3 drops of oil and massage it gently with a jade roller.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm
“Palmer’s Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm with SPF 15 is a newly formulated oval shaped lip balm that contains cocoa butter and vitamin E to smooth and moisturize the lips. The inclusion of SPF 15 helps to protect the lips from sun damage.”
Available in: Original, Dark Chocolate Mint, and Dark Chocolate Cherry.
This is one product that I can’t live without. I have been using it for the past 5 years and I still have it in every corner of my house. It is not too glossy or slippery plus it has mild SPF. Even price is a winner when it comes to this product.
Any tip? Now…I am not going to give you any tip for a lip balm. (Wink)
Note: I have received some of these products for the purpose of reviewing. However, I have already repurchased some of the items as they worked wonders for me. All views and opinions expressed are honest and solely my own.
Let’s welcome Fall Fashion Trends 2018 with open arm. No need to sacrifice your own signature style, adopt eccentric fashion trend or wear boots that look like jeans.
Filtered fashion trends straight from the runway to your closet.
If your fashion quotient has taken a back seat to work or school, it’s time to make it a priority. I am not rich enough to change my closet according to trends plus I love to wear clothes that are special to me. This year you and I’ve got a bold opportunity to flaunt our favorite animal prints, chequered shirt, and an oversized bag. The problem is that we are not sure which one to select from our very own collection or add to our shopping cart. There is only one way to find out, and that is to jump in and read 6 best fall fashion trends 2018.
1. Animal Prints
Time to look past all of the leopard print and embrace some technicolor animal prints. Zebra, cow, and snake prints have got its way in high-fashion departments and high-street stores. I am excited to take out my Zebra print shoes from my shoe cabinet and flaunt this season. But first, let me add Zebra print dress in my shopping cart.
2. Plaid’s don’t lie
Here is a trend that can challenge animal kingdom. Plaids don’t lie and I am glad that it’s going nowhere this fall. There are lots of different colors, size and style of plaids in the fashion stores to try. You know the feeling when you just have to put on a long red chequered dress and conquer the world.
3. Botanical garden in your closet
From animal print to plaids to paisley, pick up a print and it’s a trend. The floral pattern is ubiquitous and has started its own botanical journey. You’ll find it on patchwork effect, embroidered, painted or printed on your accessories, dresses or shirts. It’s blooming in fall too!
Fashion Gurus call it ’70s-style ridged fabric, but I still remember I used to wear brown cords midi dress with a scarf around my neck in the 90s. In 2018, the cord has got a fashion makeover and now you can spot it in every imaginable color, style, and cut. I am looking for a rustic brown cord midi this autumn.
5. Brown is the new black
Don’t get amused if you find shades of brown in all the fashion stores. Brown has a bad reputation when it comes to fashion but in 2018, it has got its own chocolate magic. Rich, dark and tempting brown will make your wardrobe bold and beautiful. Whether it’s rocking an accessory or full-on chocolate/khaki look, there are so many ways to pull off the top color trend. I am searching for tan brown shoes to flaunt this season.
6. Oversized Bag
This is me!! I never liked micro bags and clutches, so I am very happy to embrace an oversized bag trend. A bag big enough to carry my laptop, a book, everyday essentials, and my life. Welcome back!
Trends change season to season but you don’t have to spend much to update your look. Peep inside your closet and you’ll find trending look, right in front of you. Read Fall Fashion makeup trends, here.
I hope you enjoyed the post and get some style inspiration.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner- Are you ready? If not, you still have time to pamper your mom.
Let’s face it- the internet is flooded with Mother’s Day gift guide with exotic items.
Maybe it’s time to ditch all these gifts and set up a spa night for your mother where she can chill out, get a little mani-pedi, massage and well-deserved relaxation. My Mom used to say, “You’ll understand when you’ll become a parent.” As always, she is right! As a mother, the only gift I secretly wish is a good spa night with some relaxing music or at home spa service.
This Mother’s Day give your mother a few relaxing hours to pamper herself. So what are you waiting for? Let’s look at #thecrazylist of Spa Day extravaganza and take relaxation to another level.
You can make a spa basket for your mother or just get few items from the list and give her the much-needed leisure. Once you’ve picked a gift for your mother, please put a handwritten card in it. The way you don’t forget the first sip of alcohol, first love and first time your heart is broken – you don’t forget books that made you laugh, cry and shaped you. It’s time to share motivational quotes from books that changed my outlook towards life.
Hello! I have a confession to make, I am having a love affair. My husband knows about this relationship. How can he not? This love affair may look like an obsession but I am ready to accept it with an open heart. I am in love with books. Words. Stories. I remember my father telling me a story of a monkey and an elephant (Panchtantra stories) before bedtime and that started my love affair. I have a habit of writing date and a thought on the very first page of the book, this is like a baptism for my books. I also used to write quotes in a notebook but now I simply preserve in Pinterest Board. When I read a great book, I might not connect with a protagonist or storyline or scenes, but I always get connected with impactful lines and passages. Today I thought, I will share some of my favorite motivational quotes from books that changed my outlook towards life.
Great books are inspirational and motivational. These motivational quotes from books guide us to take decisions in life, work and love. If you wish to read the most beautiful sentences literature then read it here.
1. Stop Judging people, their choices, and actions.
If you spend too much time trying to find out what is good or bad about someone else, you’ll forget your own soul and end up exhausted and defeated by the energy you have wasted in judging others.— Paulo Coelho, Aleph
2. Read books and re-kindle your imagination. You’ll never feel lonely in the company of books!
“In your books, I have flung myself into the bottomless pit, performed miracles, slain, burned towns, preached new religions, conquered whole kingdoms” ― Anton Chekhov, The Bet
3. It’s not an end if things don’t go your way!
“Things usually work out in the end.” “What if they don’t?” “That just means you haven’t come to the end yet.” ― Jeannette Walls, The Glass Castle
4. If you wait for others to complete you, you’ll never have peace in your mind. Self-love is a prescription for healthy and fulfilling life.
“Love comes like lightning and disappears the same way. If you are lucky, it strikes you right. If not, you’ll spend your life yearning for a man you can’t have.” ― Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, The Palace of Illusions
5. Love people with open-heart and without any expectation.
“I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough..” ― Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook
6. Address your emotions, don’t run away from it!
“When I get lonely these days, I think: So BE lonely, Liz. Learn your way around loneliness. Make a map of it. Sit with it, for once in your life. Welcome to the human experience. But never again use another person’s body or emotions as a scratching post for your own unfulfilled yearnings.” ― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love
7. The only secret to success: Hard work!
“Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep.” ― A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Wings of Fire: An Autobiography
8. Learn to Let Go! Everything comes with an expiry date.
It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Zahir
9. Instead of looking for happiness, live the moment, experience small things in life – that’s where real happiness exists.
“It was only a smile, nothing more. It didn’t make everything all right. It didn’t make ANYTHING all right. Only a smile. A tiny thing. A leaf in the woods, shaking in the wake of a startled bird’s flight. But I’ll take it. With open arms. Because when spring comes, it melts the snow one flake at a time, and maybe I just witnessed the first flake melting. – Amir” ― Khaled Hosseini, The Kite Runner
10. Everything comes back to you. Karma!
“The words that come out of our mouths do not vanish but are perpetually stored in infinite space, and they will come back to us in due time.”- Elif Shafak, The Forty Rules of Love (Read more quotes from this book here.)
11. Always look situations from other’s perspective.
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” ― Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird
“Too many people go through life complaining about their problems. I’ve always believed that if you took one-tenth the energy you put into complaining and applied it to solving the problem, you’d be surprised by how well things can work out.” – Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture
13.Wisdom can’t be taught. Wisdom comes from experience, learning from mistakes, thinking before acting and accepting our true worth and values.
“Wisdom cannot be imparted. A wisdom that a wise man attempts to impart always sounds like foolishness to someone else … Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it.” ― Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha
14. We live in a hyperactive environment so we need to decide what’s important.
“And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important.” —IAIN THOMAS” ― Arianna Huffington, Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder
15. Life is a journey!
“Our life is a constant journey, from birth to death. The landscape changes, the people change, our needs change, but the train keeps moving. Life is the train, not the station.” – Paulo Coelho, Aleph
Which book has changed or shaped you in any way? What is the most powerful and motivational quote that you boosts your day? Please comment and let me know.
“Spring is the time of plans and projects.” ― Leo Tolstoy
As we move forward and embrace a new season, it is time to update our wardrobe. Yes! It is a season of rebirth, blossom, plans, and projects. I don’t know about you, but I am ready to welcome spring with open arms. It is a nature’s way of saying “Let’s Party!” before temperature begins to peak.
Finally, it is time to follow spring cleaning tradition and indulge in new fashion trends to embrace the hectic season ahead. But before you make room for spring collection in your closet, it is time to review and de-clutter overflowing closet to make room for your new possession.
Spring/Summer fashion 2018 is more about maximalism. From sequin dresses to the return of classic Burberry checks, it is all about getting 80s vibes back. “At Gucci, the ‘80s featured all throughout the collection with big hair, structured jackets with big shoulders, and a distinctive blend of neutrals, prints, and bright colors.”- Glowsly
Here are some items on top of my spring list inspired by Spring/Summer 2018 Fashion trends:
1. Sequin dress: This is groundbreaking, get whatever has that bling. Who wants a basic long dress? It’s time to get sequins all over on a V-neck fishtail maxi dress.
2. Red Chiffon Maxi Dress: Get that blossom spring vibe in this flower-printed dress with split sides. Bold prints are in the fashion so take out your printed dress that you buried in your closet. Get maxi dresses with straw hats in your closet to welcome Mr.Spring!
Yay! I am super excited to share that I am one of the first bloggers in the Middle East to receive Influenster #VoxBox.
Influenster is a product discovery and reviews platform for consumers. It uses social media analytics to measure every user’s Impact score or influence on social media. Influenster recently started its venture in the Middle East so to be selected as one of the bloggers in the Middle East to receive Max Factor VoxBox made me super excited and motivated. I have never tried Max Factor before so it was also a new experience for me.
Max Factor is one of the oldest makeup brands that need no introduction. Max Factor’s company invented waterproof mascaras, under eye concealers and Max Factor himself introduced the word “makeup”.
In my Max Factor Vox Box, I received 3 color-correcting sticks (Pink, Yellow and Green), Max Factor Facefinity 3-in-1 Foundation, Max Factor Pan Stiks (Bronze 97 and Beige 12 ) and Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 20 Lavish Mauve. It came with a step by step instructions made it super easy to learn color correcting and how to use it.
My favorite products from this kit has to be the Max Factor CC Sticks. I am pretty new to the whole color correcting game, and these creamy pencils were super easy to use and blend in. The step by step instructions makes it super easy even for a novice like me!
The foundation is more of a full-coverage formulation, although it was a shade lighter than the foundation shade I wear but still I loved using it. It is easy to blend and doesn’t look cakey on your face. I am going to get my shade now!
Max Factor Pan Stiks is for contouring and highlighting is absolutely gorgeous! I love to keep it in my makeup whenever I travel as these sticks are super cute and easy to use. The formulation is super creamy and long-lasting. If you are new to contouring and highlighting then this product is for you.
As for the blush, I love the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 20 Lavish Mauve. It is highly pigmented and gives a beautiful flush of color on your face.

Are you in pursuit of soft, smooth, shiny and frizz-free hair? Can Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing shampoo and leave-in conditioner tame tangled and frizzy hair? Read my in-depth review.
“A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life. “- Coco Chanel. This is one quote that I strongly feel speaks my mind. I am obsessed with my hair – it’s my favorite jewelry. I keep changing my style so that I can take control and change the flow of my life.
I have chemically treated my hair, played with my hair length, coloring and used heat to make it straight or curly. But after moving to Dubai, my hair became unruly, frizzy and dry. My heartbeat slows down whenever I comb my hair. I am scared of HAIRFALL! I think my relationship with my hair is terribly personal as it brings my entire existence into focus. So, it is very important for me to take good care of my hair all the time. For over a fortnight now, I have been using Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Hair Products with Jamaican Black Castor oil – Olive Oil Smoothing Shampoo and Olive Oil Leave-in Conditioner. I used it for a long time before writing this review so that I can be sure of what I say.
I just tried celeb hair dye trend, Balayage, to get that dreamy, lust-worthy and sun-kissed hair. I know…it sounds cheesy but I love my new hairstyle 😉
My relationship with Palmer’s is not all that different than relationships with people. It all started during my pregnancy when I started using their Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for stretch marks and then I used Palmer’s baby products. I love Palmer’s Prenatal, postnatal, and baby care products.
What is the company behind the revolutionary Palmer’s brand?
“E.T. Browne Drug Company is one of the longest standing proprietors of skin and hair care products in the United States. The company has been family owned since the middle of the nineteenth century and has been under the current ownership since 1971. E.T. Browne Drug Company has been headquartered in New Jersey for over 50 years. Under the current ownership, the revolutionary brand Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula was created and introduced to the world.” – Palmer’s
Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo is enriched with a unique blend of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Hair Keratin Amino Acids, and Vitamin E.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Olive oil has been used for centuries as a natural conditioner. It locks in moisture and preventing dryness of the scalp, it can make hair soft, smooth and shiny.
Vitamin E:It is an antioxidant that helps repair and build tissue. It helps reduce inflammation and repair damage to the follicles, and healthy follicles encourage hair growth.
Keratin: Keratin is the protein found naturally in hair strands, which gives hair its structure. It can help with hair thickness too.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil: It is rich in Omega-9 fatty acids that moisturize the scalp and prevent hair from drying out. It is an effective remedy to control hair fall.
Washing hair too frequently can result in a loss of natural oils that are required to hydrate and nourish. This shampoo instantly moisturizes, hydrate and nourish hair. It is light and has a citric fragrance which is not strong. I use it 2-3 times a week and it instantly revives my hair. If you wish to tame unruly and frizzy hair then this shampoo will not disappoint you. It instantly moisturizes your hair and makes it softer and smoother. This shampoo is not for you if you have fine/straight hair as it would be too moisturizing. But if you have thick and coarse hair which needs a kick of moisture then you’ll love this shampoo.
As far as packaging is concerned, it is quite sleek and simple but that’s what appeals me the most.
Palmer’s® Olive Oil Formula® Leave-In Conditioner detangles strands, reduce fly-aways, tame frizz and it’s a lightweight spray. It gives an extra punch of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Keratin and Silk proteins. I use it daily to add shine and less frizz.
Where hast thou been? I’ll give thee a crown. This is one product that I strongly feel can easily enter in Top 10 Leave-in conditioners of 2017. ? As I told you, I have thick, dry and coarse hair that frizzes – it makes my life difficult. I would take time to get ready and most of the time I am in a rush so it is difficult to take out time and set hair. This lightweight spray helps control frizz and makes hair soft and manageable. I keep it in my bag so that whenever I see frizz I just spray and set my hair. I am going to stick to this product for long. This is a “BOMB”.
These products have no Sulfates, no Parabens, no Phthalates, no Mineral Oil, no Gluten and no Dyes. Also, Palmer’s is against animal testing so these are cruelty-free products.
Where can you find it?
Palmer’s Haircare Range is available in U.A.E in selected Boots Pharmacies: Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall, Al Barsha, Mirdif City Centre, Deira City Centre, Al Wahda Mall. Prices starting from AED 32
You can easily find Palmer’s products in mass merchandise stores, drug stores, beauty supply stores, supermarkets and online shopping websites.
Overall, Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo and Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Leave-In Conditioner is a good product worth trying. However, it is not for people having fine and straight hair as it would be too moisturizing. It will definitely help you tame unruly and frizzy hair. My hair is definitely softer, smoother and shinier after using it. And the winning stroke is the price point – affordable and effective. I, highly recommend it to anyone who is tired of dealing with tangled and frizzy hair.
Have you tried Palmer’s haircare range? What are your thoughts? Also, please share your favorite hair product.

Shaving is a necessary evil, especially for men. From maintaining a professional look at work to impressing significant other – it is an obligation. And razor industry knows it really well. Razors cost a lot. Don’t waste a fortune on disposable razors, sharpen your old blades with these tricks. Get a close shave!
This post is written by Lee Walters
Those of you who use safety razors probably know how much it costs to replace your razor blades over time. While there are advantages to using a safety razor, the expense incurred may not be one of them. That is why we have written this article: to help you lessen the financial burden of using a safety razor.
Traditionally, blades of any kind were sharpened using a leather “strop”. This is a strip of leather that would be held tightly while running the blade over it a number of times until it is sharp. You can still get yourself a strop if you want, but it works just as well on denim. We recommend using an old pair of jeans as the blade will probably cause the fabric to fray and deteriorate.
Using An Old Denim
The first thing you need to do is place the jeans on a clear, flat and sturdy surface, like your desk or kitchen counter. It is also a good idea to use a surface that is dry. While setting up your surface, you might want to clean your blade by allowing it to soak in a cleaning solution for about 15 to 30 minutes. You can find cleaning solutions that are meant for razor blades, which will be good at removing hair and skin buildup from the blade, but a regular dish soap will also work for this purpose. Just leave the blade in the solution for about half an hour and occasionally stir it around to dislodge any stubborn pieces of dirt or “razor gunk” that has accumulated on the blade.
After soaking, you should dry the razor completely. To do this, you need to shake it thoroughly over the sink to remove all the big water droplets, after which you should gently run it along with a cloth in the direction of the blade to make it absolutely dry. To avoid a buildup of lint, it would probably be a good idea to use a lint free or a microfiber cloth.
This is when you will begin to sharpen your blade. To do this, you need to run your blade along your jeans in the direction of the blade and not against it. You can do this about 20 or 30 times with short, quick strokes. This is the part of the process that is known as stropping, and it removes burrs and irregularities, thus honing the edge of the razor. For more even results, it is a good practice to strop your blade in the opposite direction as well. Just flip the blade over and run it along the same section of denim around 20 or 30 times in the same way as before. Remember to apply minimal pressure while stropping. If you apply too much pressure while performing the strokes, you run the risk of damaging your blade further instead of sharpening it.
Using your foreman
An alternative to denim stropping is your own forearm. The forearm is very similar in firmness and texture to traditional leather strops. Needless to say, you have to be careful while doing this to avoid cutting yourself. Again, just apply minimal pressure and you will get the same results as you would with denim or leather. Just as with your jeans, run the blade along the straight part of your forearm with the direction of the blade and not against it. Doing this about 10 to 15 times in each direction will sharpen your blade as effectively as it would with denim or leather. Since you are running the razor with the direction of the blade and not against, you should not be cutting the hair on your forearm. If you are, then you might want to reorient yourself to get the proper angle for stropping.
Yes, using the best disposable razors matter, but would always be a very good practice to clean it thoroughly after every shave. To get this information about the top list of disposable razors available online, you can visit The Hair Central website for details.
NOTE: Unfortunately, this method does not apply to regular cartridge razors, as it would be impossible to sharpen one blade without damaging the others.

“If something touches the core of our soul, it is remembered forever and affects whatever comes afterward”- Aleph by Paulo Coelho.
As I was flipping the pages of my quotes collection, I paused for a while and started to reflect on it. When was the last time a product touched your soul? Can a product erase the scarring left on your heart? Can Bio-Oil be an answer? I don’t know about you, but I don’t have my soul touched too often when it comes to a skincare product.
Let me tell you a small story of my life. When I was 10 years old, my brother and I were playing in the garden, when accidentally I got a long cut on the left side of my face. I still remember I tried not to cry even though there was blood everywhere as I didn’t want my brother to panic. The pain made me concentrate on one thing I shouldn’t be concentrating on- I have to live with this scar forever.
I still live with this scar but I am proud of it now as it didn’t scar my soul.
How would you feel when you are asked about your scar constantly? Instead of being angry, you’d probably ignore it and try every remedy in the world to erase it- from your life. I wish I had a product like Bio-Oil in my life back then. I strongly feel that this product would have acted as a magic wand to erase the fresh scar.
Is it the miracle oil I was looking for?
What makes my experience with Bio Oil stand out above all the rest of skincare products?
Here is my in-depth review of a hydrating pink oil, Bio-Oil:
What is Bio-Oil?
“Bio-Oil is a specialist skincare product that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone. Its advanced formulation, which contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin OilTM, also makes it highly effective for numerous other skin concerns, including aging skin and dehydrated skin.” – Bio Oil Health
It is a face and body oil.
What it does?
Bio-Oil moisturizes extremely dry skin and helps the appearance of scars. It claims to improve scars, uneven skin tone, dehydrated skin and aging skin.
What are the ingredients?
How does it feel?
When I opened the bottle of Bio-Oil, the first thing I noticed was the fragrance. At first, I have to admit that I didn’t like it but after every use, I started liking the aroma. The oil itself is orange in color and it’s packaged in a plastic bottle.
When you apply Bio-Oil to the skin it feels soft and a bit greasy but it absorbs fast as you start massaging it. A little goes a long way!
I’m neither pregnant nor am I using it for stretch marks, so I am not going to talk about those claims. Also, I feel stretch marks that are embedded deep in the skin cannot go easily or fade overnight.
My problem area is my chin which has uneven skin tone and acne spots. I usually get acne only on my chin and I had six little black devils when I started using Bio-Oil. Yes! I count my acne spots. After using it every night for a week, my acne scars have started to fade and my chin area is getting better. I found it to be one of the most effective and quick healers for scars and uneven skin tone.
I love massaging my face with facial oils at night. It has become a staple night-time routine that I follow religiously. I now use it every night and wake up to glowy, dewy, hydrated skin – sounds cliched but true.
Another interesting tidbit: Use it underneath your foundation and it will act as a primer.
One more thing that I absolutely love about this cult-classic oil is that it is more effective than products twice its price. This baby is not pricey. You can find Bio-Oil in pharmacy, supermarket and online.
WhatI didn’t like?
Even though I loved this product, there are a couple of things that I need to mention here.
a) Mineral Oil or Paraffinum Liquidum is one of the ingredients of the product. If you are super-conscious about ingredients and have issues with mineral oil then you need to check it out before using it. Personally, I don’t have any problem with it.
b) Don’t expect overnight results. I thought it is important to mention here that even though Bio-Oil comes with cult status, it mentions that apply twice daily for a minimum of 3 months to get the desired results. Use consistently to get the results.
This oil in the light pink bottle gets a thumbs up from me as it has delivered quick results in fading my acne spots. But I am still not sure if it can do some miracle to erase the scar on my face too (which I doubt). You start trusting a product and you think you’ve got a magic wand, but you haven’t. There are deep routed scars that don’t vanish, they are there to show your journey. However, words kill, and I will continue using it for next three months to experience the result. As of now, I am going to use this hydrating light-pink oil and get rid of acne scars and uneven skin-tone.
Have you tried Bio-Oil? What do you think about the product? Do you have any questions regarding this product? Let me know in the comment section.
Lots of Love
